Tissue Culture PPR Vaccine

    Definition:-
  • It is live attenuated freeze-dried vaccine prepared by growing Peste des petits.
    ruminant (PPR) virus (Sungri strain) in Vero cell culture.

    • Use:-

  • This vaccine is used to protect sheep & goat against PPR disease. The vaccine is safe
    to use in sheep and goat of any age group and pregnant animals. However, do not
    vaccinate the animals which are less than 4 months of age as the maternal antibodies
    may interfere in the development of active immunity against PPR.

    • Doses and Administration:-

  • 1 ml subcutaneously at neck region.

    • Reactions:-

  • No side reactions are normally noticed.

    • Immunity:-

  • It develops 3 weeks after post-vaccination and remains for 3 years.

    • Precautions:-

    • Transport of vaccine on ice is essential to maintain cold chain.
    • Store in freezing chamber of the refrigerator.Do not freeze the vaccine.
    • Reconstitute carefully in chilled diluent i.e. Normal Saline Solution and mix well before administration.
    • Use within 2 hours after reconstitution. Keep on ice
    • Do not apply Tr.iodine or spirit while vaccination.
    • Use sterile syringes and needle.

    Storage:-

  • At -200 C ................One year from the date of manufacture
  • At 00 C to 40 C ........One month
