Shepherd Insurance Scheme

  • Central Wool Development Board has introduced the Shepherds’ Insurance Scheme in Maharashtra state with the help of Life Insurance Corporation of India with the aim to provide financial protection to the shepherd community. Annual Premium is Rs. 330/- for every member. Out of the annual premium of Rs. 330/--
    • Each member shall contribute a sum of Rs. 80/- per annum as premium.
    • The Central Wool Development Board will contribute Rs. 150/- per annum per member
    • LIC of India will contribute Rs. 100/- per annum per member Total Rs. 330/-
  • During the year 13-14 total 2536 shepherds are cover under this scheme and total 1420 beneficiaries have awarded a scholarship under this scheme.
