Swine Fever Vaccine

    Definition:-
  • Swine fever vaccine consists of 10% spleen suspension of rabbits infected with a modified rabbit adapted swine fever virus. The suspension is made in a yolk-buffered base and is freeze-dried.

    • Use:-

  • The vaccine is used for active immunisation of swine from unweaned stage to adult stage against swine fever.

    • Doses and Administration:-

  • 1 ml. of reconstituted vaccine subcutaneously/ Intramuscularly.

    • Reactions:-

  • Normally no reactions are noticed.

    • Immunity:-

  • Immunity is expected to last for about one year.

    • Precautions:-

    • Transport of vaccine on ice is essential to maintain cold chain.
    • Store in freezing chamber of the refrigerator.Do not freeze the vaccine.
    • Reconstitute carefully in the chilled diluent, and mix well before administration.
    • Use within 2 hours after reconstitution. Keep on ice.
    • Do not apply Tr. iodine or spirit while vaccination.
    • Use sterile syringes and needles.

    Storage:-

  • At -150 C to 200 C............Six months.from the date of manufacture
  • At 00 C to 40 C.................One month.

  • 2/5/10 doses per vial

  • A bottle containing 100 ml. N.S.S.
