- Definition:-
- It is a suspension prepared from the lentogenic strain, propagated in embryonated eggs through chorio-allointoic route.
- It is used in chicks
- Primary Vaccination:--
- 5 to 7 days of age.
- Booster vaccination:-
- 5 th week of age.
- Primary and booster dose- One drop in each nostril.
- Normally no reactions are seen.
- Immunity develops fully after 14 to 21 days and remains for eight weeks.
- Maintenance of cold chain is important.
- Keep on ice until use.
- Do not freeze the vaccine.
- Transport of vaccine on ice is essential to maintain cold chain.
- Use sterile dropper.
- It may be ensured that the vaccine is inhaled by the chicks.
- The separate needle should be used for drawal of vaccine from vial and inoculation.
- Vaccine vials showing cracks or damaged stoppers should not be used.
