California Mastitis Test Reagent

    Definition:-
  • It is a purple coloured reagent of chemicals.

    • Use:-

  • It is used for detection of sub clinical mastitis. The milk from each teat is taken in 3 ml. quantity individually in each cup. An equal ,quantity of C.M.T. reagent is added to each cup The mixture is then stirred by paddle with hand in clockwise and anticlockwise directions for two minutes. If there is a gel formation that does not have a tendency to disappear, then the test is considered as positive for sub clinical mastitis.

    • Storage:-

  • The bottles are stored in refrigerator at 4 C to 8 C .

    • Packing:-

  • 100 ml. in polypropylene bottles.
