No. PAVIA. 2683/47507/(1340)/ADF-2. – In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 pf the Constitution of India and in supersession of all existing rules, orders or instruments made in this behalf, the Governor of Maharashtra is hereby pleased to make the following rules regulating recruitment to the post of Tractor Driver (Group D) in the Commissionerate of Animal Husbandry under the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Department of the Government of Maharashtra, namely :-

1. These rules may be called the Tractor Driver (Group D) in the Commissionerate of Animal Husbandry (Recruitment) Rules, 1994.

2. In the rules, unless the context requires otherwise, “Government” means the Government of Maharashtra.

3. Appointment to the post of Tractor Driver shall be made either,-

(a) by promotion of a suitable person on the basis of seniority subject to fitness from amongst the person on the basis of seniority subject to fitness from amongst the persons holding the post of driver of motor car/Jeep/Truck who possess qualifications and experience mentioned in sub-clauses (ii), (iii), (iv), (v), (vi) of clause (b) or

(b) by nomination from amongst candidate who,-

(i) unless already in the service of Government are not more than 35 years of age ;

(ii) possess an effective driving licence to drive a heady vehicles and Tractor under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988;

(iii) have passed at least IV standard examination of any recognised school and can speak in Marathi and Hindi language ;

(iv) as a driver have clean driving record and working knowledge of repairs of heavy vehicle or tractor ;

(v) possess not less than one year’s experience of driving a tractor, independently; and

(vi) possess a good physique and knowledge of topography of the concerned area:

Provided that, if candidates with the prescribed period of experience are not available, the period of experience may be relaxed by Government on the recommendation of the selecting authority.
